Nose Blind ( Jen's Story)

Jen Gurl,

Thank You for sharing this story with me I'm having a great time writing it with you! Traveling & meeting people always leads to extra fun & sometimes scary stories.

I’m chilling in my seat on this Amtrak train hoping the person sitting next to me wasn’t going to be annoying. Low & behold it was one of the fine chocolate men I had been peeping traveling since Arkansas. He was really handsome but really dusty, meaning looking a bit unkempt. When he sat down next to me he smelled a lil musty as well. I mean at that point we were on the train for two days me coming from my home in Oklahoma so I couldn’t judge. But what I do know is when I knew I smelled musty I went in the bathroom & gave myself a bird bath & put on deodorant. One of my friends calls it a whore’s bath lol.

N-e-way back to Mr. Musty when he sat down he seemed uncomfortable. He asked me in his thick ass southern accent if I wanted to sit next to my boyfriend. I’m looking confused like huh... then it dawned on me that he was talking about J.C. I’m thinking to myself well damn how much did he see? (The J.C. part of my story is in a short story Jodie Spartz wrote called the Sex Instinct) Ok back to me.

I respond like, oh no I’m ok & that’s not my boyfriend. He looked at me a little weird & we went back to riding. I texted J.C. like, yo why bull next to me think you're my boyfriend & asked me if I wanted to sit next to you. We lol'd the text & the ride went on. There were 4 hours left & somehow me & Mr. Musty started talking & I realized I didn’t smell the musty smell anymore, I must’ve gone nose blind.

The conversation was really nice. He was intelligent and well spoken & because of that damn accent I could’ve listened to him talk all day. We talked for about 3 hours, he told me how he had been homeless for 5 years. He said that he would really like to get himself together so that he could see his 2 children again. He also said that he was coming from Oklahoma but he stopped in Arkansas to see some friends. I told him a little about my boring life & how that affected me & was still affecting me, I was looking for some fun & excitement.

Something about his energy was comforting & I guess he felt the same about me because he got off at my stop in Illinois. When I asked him where he was going earlier he said to Missouri. I’m like damn you missed that stop a while ago. He said I know , I’m just going to go wherever the wind takes me at this point. We exchanged Insta handles & that’s when I noticed that his belongings were in a big clear trash bag. Ah well who am I kidding I’ve met homeless guys before.

Some rise to the occasion & become better than ever before & unfortunately some get stuck, drown & never return to the surface. When my ride came he helped me load my suitcases into the car. I said, hey give me a hug. He did, then I said listen bruh, the only place to go from here is to the top! He responded then Sis I’ll see you there! I got into the car & watched him disappear with the road behind me.

A couple days later he hit me on Insta & asked how I was doing. We communicated through our DM's for about a month then he gave me his phone number. He told me things were hard & he was still sleeping in his tent. He sent me a picture of him in the process of packing it up one day. He wasn't in the pic just the tent & stuff. He ended up getting a job at Little

Caesars Pizza & we figured out we were about 45mins away from each other.

I asked him to send me a pic because ya know I wanted to see him. He sent me two pic's both about a week apart & he sent them to my Insta DM & you know Instagram has that feature where you can look at the pic then it disappears. I thought that was weird like why wouldn't you send a pic I could keep. Then he would always text me & never call we were talking for about two months. He called me twice in that time span.

One day I told him to call me & he said he had to wait until he went outside. I'm thinking why, you said you got yourself a hotel room for the night. I just thought to myself that's weird & at this moment I can't remember if he ever called. On those text tho, we were talking talking & talking nasty. We finally set a date to see each other after 2 months. He said he was going to get a hotel room. I was with it, I mean why wouldn't I be I felt like maybe I found a boo! We kept the communication hot & heavy as the day approached.

We have to sit to do a part 2 we didn't have time to finish so I will be back with part 2 in a few!

We're not in LA N-E-More XII

My phone is fixed! It was broke for about two weeks, I kinda broke it myself out of frustration & it was right before Christmas. So that meant no Christmas, New years or any Holiday pics. I was a little sad at first that I couldn't post on social media but after a while I found peace in enjoying activities & not worrying about pictures or footage. I visited my son for Christmas in Upstate NY for two days, Then I went to visit my God mom for a couple days dropped her off some gifts. I went to visit my God children & my God granddaughter that was fun. My God grand daughter is two years old and my God daughter & God son asked her if she wanted to sing head shoulders, knees & toes. She said no but they decided to sing it anyway to see if she would get into it. She didn't & after they finished the song all enthusiastically this little girl with her little baby voice said " Nobody asked for all that!" My husband & I busted out laughing ...

Finding Self (Part 1)

When two people are together (Pause) I keep trying to figure out a soft way to start this. It took me about a month to even figure it out.  I decided to start this one with a disclaimer.  I'd just like to say I am not talking ugly about n-e-one nor am I trying to make anyone look bad but the truth is the truth. People said it will set you free let's see.        I never really explained how we ended up making the decision to go back to Philadelphia. Surviving LA was about me learning my new city, getting a job, a car & an apartment. The car was actually an added extra.  After the Air-BnB, we decided to live in the car for 3months so that we could boost our credit to get an apartment no money down. I was going to pay for the car & he was going to take care of the credit. It was a reasonable plan because we had just spent $8,000 in the Air-BnB for 4 months. Since we were making money I didn't see how we could fail. ...
