Surviving LA part V

So here we were trying to build toward a security deposit for an apartment a car, pay credit card bills and I had to take off work from both of my jobs & hubby now had to take off work as well. Loosing money was not part of the plan or something I was happy about but this was also completely out of my control. After being discharged from the hospital I spent the night at the shelter not knowing it would be my last night. I woke up the next morning to an extremely sore body & hubby calling me to tell me his knee was so swollen he could barely move. The only thing I knew is that he needed to be able to heal properly or we would have a much harder time trying to complete the mission.

I got myself together & went to the storage unit, Then I jumped on Booking.com to find a place to stay for a while. I had $800 in my savings & he had about $800 in his as well and that would pay for 26 days in a hotel somewhere. We were off to a better start than we had been since we arrived in California so I felt the positivity in that. I found a private room on Crenshaw & Slauson that was $60 a night plus tax, & that would have to do for now. When we arrived I didn't know what to expect because everyone said that Crenshaw is the ghetto. I was confused and after living there for the past 3 months because the neighborhood is beautiful & their train is way cleaner than the Santa Monica train.

I was also pleasantly surprised when I saw the room, even tho it is a shared bathroom & kitchen it had all the amenities I want in an apartment/house. It has the walk-in closet, the door in the room that leads to a private balcony& the bathroom has a jacuzzi tub. So currently this is where we still are, they let us stay 28 days then we have to move to another one of their properties for one day and then we can come back to our room for the next 28days. This has been a continuous cycle for the past two months. Where we will go from here? The future is not foretold stay tuned cuz I know I am!

The Crystal (LA Story)

This is a crazy story & another one about someone trying to get in where they think they fit in.       I was at work, at my lil retail gig and this lady walks up to the counter and says that she is clairvoyant and that she can tell I am going through some things, I shouldn't be at that job because I'm better than that and that my face is supposed to be well known. She said there are some other things that she would like to tell me. She gave me her card and asked me to come down to her shop and get my free palm reading. I know spiritual energy is real and she did touch on somethings that made me think maybe going to see her wouldn't be a complete waste of time.      A couple days later I made the appointment and went to her shop. She read my Palm, said some things that I've heard before & then asked me to pick a crystal. I picked a heart shaped one and she stated as long as I had the crystal I will start feeling better. I know that these sessions aren'

Surviving LA part II

As the LA housing search continues...      We found ourselves on the streets & out of money for a couple weeks due to the Beverly Hills swindle & the cost of staying in hotels. On day one on the streets, we both worked a night shift and spent the day sleeping in our storage unit, Day 2 was the Santa Monica/Venice beach night, sleeping in our tent & fighting a serious wind till the morning. On day 3 we fought with the wind again more severe in our tent at the Venice Graffiti walls on the beach & lost. We dramatically packed up fighting the wind the whole way & ended up camping not too far away in Penmar park. The good thing about this was that they had a bathroom available.       The hauk was out too that night it was so cold, I thought I was gonna die from hypothermia. I don't even know how I made it through the night. All I know is that I was not prepared for this! The universe carried me into day 4 & we both again worked the night shift. I worked from 10
